Tip of the Week

Putting Up or Down?

Do your putts come up short or are they long when you play. Which ever they are there is a way to practice that will help you develop better speed control. If your putts are always running past the hole and giving you 5 or 6 foot come backers here is what you do. Go to the putting green and find the steepest putt you can, you want to be 10 to 15 feet above the hole. Now start putting. Your brain will start to “soften” your stroke after you’ve run a few 15 feet past the hole.
If your putts are always coming up short you just get the same distance below the hole until you “strengthen” your stroke. It is also a good way to start your session by putting while looking at the hole so your eyes and hands can work together. This is how you develop feel. Play well.
